We’ve compiled some of our favorite places to go in Oregon for the summer. These are our top places we think you should drive to because Oregon is full of hidden places that are worth a spot on your summer road trip list.
On The Oregon Coast: Seaside
This is Oregon’s first beach town, and the Seaside’s Broadway is a beautiful and memorable walk. You’ve got shops, scenery, family attractions and more! There’s a carousel, bumper cars and indoor mini golf to keep everyone entertained. The Seaside Promenade is a famous automobile turnaround where you can take your bikes, walk, hang out and more. It dates back to the 1920s, and its well worth your stop!
In The City: Portland
You’ve got to visit Portland. It’s a fun, eclectic town with a ton of old book shops, antique stores and urban eateries. You really can’t go wrong with food there, so its recommended to come hungry. The Voodoo donuts is a no-brainer, and you can find a list of events happening here. Music and beer is another reason to go. There’s a lot of entertainment and pubs/bars just waiting to be discovered.
Outdoor Fun: Bend
This is the city to visit if you love hiking, mountains, beer, cannabis and more. There’s a lot to do this summer in this fine city, and one of the fun out-door adventures worth mentioning is The Bend Ale Trail. You can walk, hop on a bus or even cruise through the long list of pubs and breweries by a horse-drawn carriage. Its really a treat, and a great adventure stop on your road trip. There’s also hiking, bird watching and a list of summer fun activities.
Biking and Family: Sunriver
Sunriver is the place to stop for families. There are trails and trails for biking all over. You can stop at the horse ranch and hop in the saddle for a trail ride. Watch out for the prairie dogs you’ll sneak a peak of as you are either trotting or pedaling through. Sunrivier Village has everything exciting to eat and do for families. Rock climbing walls, mini trains, bouncy houses and more will wear everyone out before they have to hop back in the car. Or, you’ll have so much fun you’ll end up staying a full week before continuing on your road trip!
